THERAPY SERVICES:

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during therapy?

Therapy is collaborative where both you and your therapist will work together to move towards change and improvement. During our time together we will explore what brought you to therapy. We will talk about what types of changes you would like to experience as a result of therapy. It is important to understand that you will get more results from therapy if you actively participate in the process. Through this process, we will identify skills and tools to help cultivate change and growth.

Why do people go to therapy? Should I go?

Many people go to therapy for many different reasons. Some may go because they are having a difficult time as they go through different transitions in life, struggling with life stressors, anxiety, depression, or problems in their relationships. Therapy provides the space to allow you and/or your partner to take the time to explore the issues, identify the underlying problems and find helpful solutions.

Whether or not you should go is up to you. However, if what you have been doing on your own has not been helpful or has assisted you in change, therapy can be a good place to start to help you experience and increase self-awareness. Therapy can also help you find the blind spots or stuck points in your life that you may have not seen before.
